Hi! I’m Charlotte, a mum of three beautiful little weirdos (aged 1, 4 and 5) living in England, and this *spreads arms wide* is Baby Brain.

What is Baby Brain?
Oh, well, thanks for asking.
At its core, Baby Brain is a blog about motherhood and family life. Written with heart and humour, Baby Brain documents the everyday magic of life with kids, the everyday laughs, and the everyday WTFs too. Sometimes relatable, often lighthearted, BB posts have been described as “always warm and funny” (-
) "Brilliant. Funny. Relatable. Heartwarming.” (- ) and “the perfect combination of hilarious and heart wrenching” (- ). I love writing here, and I love that you’re considering reading here, so thank you. Some posts that people have enjoyed, you say?
I’ve compiled a list of popular posts and featured favourites, which you can access via the homepage, or by clicking here
OK, but who is this family you speak of?
The family I write of is my own - a completely ordinary (though we think of our children as extraordinary, obviously) family of five based in the north of England. We consist of myself (Charlotte, hello again) my husband, and our three small children – Poppet (m, 5 years), Pickle (m, 4 years) and Peach (f, 1 year.) Those are not their real names. These are real stories from our days.
Alright, and you are?
A former Londoner, a tea drinker, a Rightmove stalker, a wife and a mum. I work in marketing, I have a degree in journalism, and I am trained in all sorts of infant care stuff ranging baby massage to gentle infant sleep. I am passionate about infant wellness, about new mums being treated with kindness, and about writing. Despite not growing up wanting children (“you’re a career girl!” they all cried, “don’t throw your life away!”) I genuinely feel like I’ve found my calling in motherhood, and wouldn’t change it for anything. I find humour in most situations, am quick to laugh, suffer with sarcasm, and don’t always say the right thing but always try really hard to. I am here because writing quiets my mind, helps me reframe the trickier days, and brings me joy.
I hope you find joy here, too.
What’s behind the paywall?
Every month, Baby Brain publishes 1-2 posts for free subscribers, with all other posts reserved for paying subs. There’s a 7 day free trial available for anyone considering taking a peek behind the curtain, which I fully endorse taking advantage of.
Paying for access to Baby Brain helps me to continue putting time into this space, allowing me to focus on sharing with you here, rather than hunting for additional freelance work. It also allows me to work around the 3 P’s, which I am eternally grateful for. If you would like to go paid, you can do so from as little as £2.92 per month (which is, yes, less than a coffee.)
Whatever your subscriber status, thank you for your support. As Pickle would say, “you’re amazing.”
Until next time ❤️
