Hahaha yes finally someone who shares my hatred of GHMILY! Maybe it's something to do with coming to it as an adult for the first time. What is his problem!!?? Also love that you have become him, embrace your dark side!

“Two hares – Big Nutbrown and Little Nutbrown – are engaged in a fight to the death.” HAHA this is classic. FWIW our current household favourite is “Turtle in a tree”… Closely followed by Noni the Pony and Imagine xx

Snuggle puppy is a classic in our house, god forbid we read a song that has more than 5 lines

I haven't read Snuggle Puppy, would you recommend it or should I avoid?

It’s cute I just have to read it every night because my daughter loves puppies 😂

“However, where I do take issue with this book is with where exactly this caterpillar is finding all of this food.” I spit out my drink laughing at this LMAOOO

OMG my 4.5 year old daughter keeps saying she loves me more lately, too! And it drives me INSANE and I tell her every time that that is legitimately IMPOSSIBLE and cannot be and sorry babe but no. And my husband says, "why can't you let her win? Why does it matter?" And I think the answer is as you said, I cannot tolerate the idea that she would exist in the world thinking that there is any love bigger than the love I have for her, and because I am a stickler for the truth and I can't tell her it's true when it isn't. Why do they do this???

Charlotte (has) Baby Brain's avatar

Oh my word it matters so much doesn't it! I CAN'T let them win!

My kids are in love with Beatrix Potter and I’m so happy about it. They are so fun to read out loud. Big Nutbrown Hare has got NOTHING on Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle

Sandra Boynton is the queen of our house, with Dinosnores and Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs being particular favorites.

Oh I don't know her work. Is she queen in a good way? Or a queen you want to see dethroned?

Good way. The art is charmingly silly (if you've ever seen someone say happy birthday with an illustrated "Hippo birdie two ewe," she's the artist) and the stories don't have anything too obnoxious.

This read definitely started my day with a good laugh! My son will wear out a book so fast. I’ve put up “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,” “Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site,” and “The Runaway Bunny” so he can’t see them on his shelf anymore. We now do a big weekly library haul, mostly for his language growth, but also for my entertainment because one can only read about a bear chasing kids all the way home so many times.

Charlotte (has) Baby Brain's avatar

Yes we love the library for this. I've had to hide We're Going On A Bear Hunt. We used to go to a baby class that would sing the whole book, and I now can't read it without bursting into song

Haha, I had this book on my list but didn't want to go on too much. It will be in the follow up with my own thoughts. Loved this video, only understood about half of what was being said 😂

Same. True that the story is entirely about unreasonable chaos. Now as soon as the tiger starts eating the whole house I just think ‘the story is now entering its chaos era’ and my daughter wonders what I’m laughing at

We had two kids and nobody EVER gifted us Guess How Much I Love You. We did receive three copies of Llama Llama Red Pajama, two of Little Blue Truck, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar (in both German and English). Fun Fact: The German title translates to “Little Caterpillar, Never Satisfied”
